12/13/2022 Ride to the WALL
What a fun day with beautiful scenery, great company, and a really good look at what exactly is at the southern border in the middle of the desert in the middle of nowhere. Where the old border is still standing (well kind of) and the new border while impressive is definitely not secure because of the gaping hole at the end. It's interesting how in the areas of crossing they have elaborate checkpoints and make people think it is actually secure. Let me assure you it's not. I stood right there and looked at it.
Its surreal standing right there next to this incredibly massive structure.
In case you can't tell I couldn't get enough pictures.

More creepin' and crawlin'
and some more
and ok a lot more short ones
Ok so I had to go look these up because I had never heard of them, but they were used to heat coal, or oil in the absence of air to create a destructive distillation process. Reference Coke (fuel) - Wikipedia
Who's side are you on anyway?
So, although this looks impressive, it is still wide open to the left of the picture where they had to stop building so it never got over the next little mountain and there is quite a break in the wall there too because they were preparing to cut up through the hill like the other end of it. They had to stop so it's wide open too.
Helen and Steve making sure we all stay on track and don't get lost along the way
Ok crazy camera moment right there. Hahaha, almost need drunk glasses to watch that one.
